JUNCTION PROTECTION SCHEME

Following the initial consultation from the Parish Council regarding the proposed junction protection scheme in the village, VIA East Midlands has now launched the formal consultation and published details of the precise location of the double yellow lines at specific road junctions. MAIN STREET RESURFACING – POSTPONED

It is disappointing to have to report that the resurfacing of Main Street has been unavoidably delayed due essential safety work on the gas mains. During the Christmas period there was significant disruption whilst the source of a gas leak was identified and repaired.  The conclusion following further investigative works was that the whole stretch of gas mains pipe must be replaced. This work is programmed to begin in May this year and will inevitably lead to further disruption. Following such major work on the road, the Parish Council has been advised that it will take at least 18 months
