Burton Joyce Parish Council has always had good links with Nottinghamshire Police and it monthly Parish Council meeting is attended By PC Simon Wells, giving updates and listening to concerns.  PC Wells has been in the village for many years and is a reassuring presence to the village . Policing in Burton Joyce is covered by the South Nottinghamshire Division of Nottinghamshire Police. The Main station for the Gedling South region is at Carlton Square  0115 940 0999 or in an emergency ring 999.

Early July 2009  Burton Joyce Station

There have been reports of congregations of teenagers  around Burton Joyce Station on the platform and tracks in the evenings of 31st June1,2,3 July. Mostly aged around 14– 16years old these teenagers have been seen with alcohol and walking along the tracks with beer cans in hand. The Police have been attendance and have removed them and confirmed that it is not Public land for congregation and alcohol drinking in public areas by minors is an offence. Councillors have asked for a heightened presence is likely over the next few nights. Parents are urged to ensure their teenagers are aware of the risk of alcohol and railways and also significant litter deposits on the Poplars Ground on Wednesday night.
