Having had to cancel the event last year and postpone it this summer, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Parish Council was delighted to be able to work with Burton Joyce Community Brass in ensuring the ‘Picnic in the Park’ went ahead as planned this autumn.
A massive THANK YOU is due to all the Band members for providing an excellent music arrangement and to all those who attended and supported the concert, it was wonderful to see such a great turn-out to this increasingly popular event. The relaxed atmosphere and warm weather made it a very special day.
Our thanks are also due to the Trent Valley Councillors for their donation for the toilet facilities – which (once unlocked!) proved very useful! and to Tom Randall MP for supporting and opening the event. The Chair of the Parish Council, Cllr Laurence King said “It is great to begin to re-establish these wonderful events that enhance our community of Burton Joyce”.
