Advice Leaflet

Nottinghamshire Police have provided the attached leaflet to raise awareness following a series of Rogue Trader/Distraction Burglary incidents that have taken place in the Gedling Borough between 27th May and 4th June.  They have advised us of the following:

“The first two incidents have already been covered in appropriate media releases however in order to raise awareness in the Community and for a renewed witness appeal we have issued a fresh media release with images of two vans believed to have been involved.

On each occasion the offenders have targeted elderly members of the community and have claimed to be at the address in order to carry out repairs to the property or items within.

Each incident has taken place during a week day and usually in the afternoon between 12p.m – 5p.m

The incidents to date have taken place in the following locations;

Kenrick Road, Mapperley

Calverton Road, Arnold

Standhill Road, Carlton

Jenned Road, Arnold

Patricia Drive, Arnold

We are very much keeping an open mind as to if these incidents are all linked.”

Details of their media appeal can be found here which outlines details of each incident reported to them:

Patrols have been increased in the relevant areas, and the Police are working together with Gedling Borough Council colleagues (Neighbourhood Wardens, CCTV etc) and Nottinghamshire County Trading Standards. Crime prevention advice is also being delivered in the areas affected to raise awareness of this type of crime.
